the starter kit is formulated to support

Energy Levels

Your body needs enough iodine to support thyroid hormone production for energy and stamina.

FOCUS & HAPPINESS

Provides vital thyroid hormones to the brain which help activate neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin.

Fertility

Low levels of iodine can cause women to stop ovulating. Ovaries contain the second highest concentration of iodine in the body.

Immune function

It's a scavenger of free radicals and boosts antioxidant activity which helps defend against various diseases including cancer.

Shiny, Healthy Hair

Thyroid hormones help with healthy hair, skin, and nails. Iodine may also help reduce hair loss due to infection of hair follicles.

Metabolism

Thiodine provides thyroid-loving iodine to naturally support metabolism and calorie-burning.

frequently asked questions

What makes Thiodine different?

When we say you'd have a hard time finding a higher quality iodine supplement, we mean it. Thiodine is formulated with rare molecular iodine, and powerful potassium iodide, carefully selected for the highest potency and bioavailability. Sustainably-sourced from deep earth mined iodine crystals in the USA, Thiodine comes from the "purest" iodine in the world.

We manufacture under cGMP with strict analysis and microbial testing and the highest quality standards under our FDA certified manufacturing team. Thiodine is tested for Heavy Metals, according to current USP procedures and passses in all categories.

Read the Certificate of Analysis to learn more.

Is Thiodine suitable for dietary or iodine allergies?

Iodine is a vital nutrient utilized by every cell in the body. Thiodine has no wheat, dairy, corn, soy, sugar, sucrose, eggs, nuts, animal products, pesticides, harmful chemicals, artificial colors, preservatives, sweeteners, or sugar. It's also non-GMO. Thiodine is suitable for any diet, including Paleo, keto, and vegan-friendly. It's even iodine-allergy friendly.

*We always suggest consulting a medical professional.

How do I use Thiodine?

Thiodine may boost energy so it's preferable to use it in the morning. Thiodine should always be diluted. Avoid mixing Thiodine with citrus or Vitamin C since the ascorbic acid may interfere with the iodine. The suggested serving size is 2 small drops in 8 ounces of non-citrus juice, coffee, or tea. Some people use more, others use less. The amount of iodine varies by individual.

CAUTION: Please don't put Thiodine directly in your mouth or on skin. Thiodine should always be diluted.

What are the ingredients and suggested dose?

Thiodine contains potassium iodide, molecular iodine, and distilled water. The suggested serving is 2 small drops, each servings contains approximately 10 MG of potassium iodide of which 7.5 MG is the iodide component and 5 MG of molecular iodine, for a total of approximately 12.5 MG of iodine per serving.

Each 1 oz bottle contains approximately 300 servings and lasts anywhere from 4-10 months or longer depending on use. To dispense, hold the dropper straight down, not at an angle.

Thiodine comes from earth mined iodine crytals in the USA. Our exclusive source of iodine is the highest quality, potency and purity in a USP grade supplement.

Can I use Thiodine with other thyroid medication?

Iodine is vital for thyroid hormone production. Many of our customers use Thiodine in companion to thyroid treatments. We always recommend asking your doctor should you have any questions.

What if I don't have a thyroid?

Every cell in the body needs iodine in one of two forms. The thyroid, hair, skin, and nails use potassium iodide. Whereas, the reproductive glands, brain, pineal gland, pancreas, and eyes use molecular iodine.

I have Hashimoto's and was told not to use Iodine

According to patient experience and a popular iodine protocol, many people with Hashimoto's have successfully reduced thyroid antibodies using iodine and selenium supplementation. Selenium plays a vital role in thyroid hormone creation because it protects the thyroid from oxidative damage. Some patients who have the MTHFR gene C667 may want to discuss whether Thiosel is right for them.

A popular iodine protocol recommends supplementing with a physiological dose (200 mcg-400 mcg) of selenium in the form of selenomethionine like Thiosel.

We always recommend talking with a doctor or practioner who has experience with iodine and selenium.

Are Brazil nuts a good source of selenium?

The amount of nutrients in our food depends on the growing conditions and soil. For this reason, the amount of selenium in foods, including brazil nuts, may vary a lot depending on where the food was farmed. If the soil was deficient, like in the Goiter Belt, then the food source may not provide the necessary nutrients you need.

Not enough selenium can leave you struggling with low energy, brain fog, fertility issues, and Hashi's flares. Too much selenium, or too much of the wrong kind of selenium, may lead to selenium toxicity.

Just like Goldilocks, when it comes to selenium levels, we are looking for "just right." That's why food sources may not be reliable for getting the right amount of selenium.

Selenium is so vital for the process of helping convert thyroid hormones into energy and protect against oxidative damage during conversion (a big concern for Hashi's), we recommend getting selenium levels tested regularly, working with a doctor who understands iodine and selenium, and use a supplement like Thiosel. It's formulated with organically-sourced selenomethionine, the type with reduced risk of toxicity and ability to raise serum selenium levels (that's a good thing!).

Do I get enough iodine from iodized salt?

It might be a surprise to learn that iodized salt is not a great source of iodine. But there are three common misconceptions about salt and iodine that might surprise you even more.

First, a lot of us have been told that we get enough iodine from iodized salt. But this is not true. We may get a lot of salt in our diets, but that doesn't mean we get a lot of iodine.

In fact, a lot of salt doesn't have iodine. Isn't that interesting? You might have a box of Morton's salt in your cupboard and think that contains iodine. But that's also not true. Read the whole story about iodized salt.

Why should I detox bromine, chlorine, and fluoride?

First, let's talk chemistry. Iodine is a mineral in what's called the halogen family. Even though it's a family, and iodine is your buddy, that doesn't mean everyone in the family is your friend. The other family members include bromine, chlorine, and fluoride. You've probably heard about their other halogens because they have a bad rap. Rightfully so. They can wreak havoc on your body.

Fibrocystic breast disease, ovarian cysts, lowered thyroid function, reduced melatonin production, impaired memory, leaky gut, and more. These halogens are considered toxins.

Like an outlet for a plug, every cell in the body has an receptor made just for iodine. We're talking trillions of cells. That's a lot of vital body functions relying on iodine.

If the body doesn't get enough iodine to feed these cells, it will try to use any halogen that looks like iodine. Meaning, bromine, chlorine, and fluoride. Imagine using diesel fuel in your car instead of unleaded? That's why detoxing these halogens is so important, and supplying enough iodine

How does Thiosalt help detox?

The only way to combat toxic halogens is with good halogens. It's that chemistry thing again, and the weight of the periodic table. Thiosalt contains a special sodium chloride quick-dissolve powder which is formulated to help open detox pathways in your body (meaning, the kidneys) and help carry out carry out bad halogens (yes, through pee).

When chlorine, bromine, and fluoride are dislodged from those cell outlets, they go looking for a home elsewhere in your body. Like squatters. These toxic halogens might fool the iodine receptors but they don't fool the rest of you. Your body knows they are toxins and tries to protect itself by holding water to create a buffer. What does added water mean? That's right, bloating. The last thing any of us needs is more bloating.

While salt-loading might seem like we are adding even more water, the mechanism of opening the detox pathways is designed to actually help reduce the bloating and flush out toxins. Cool, right?

How does Thiosalt support adrenal function?

Thiosalt is formulated for the added benefit of helping support adrenal function, hydrating the body, and balancing electrolytes.  When we wake up in the morning, our cells may be dehydrated which can make us feel groggy and fatigue. Try Thiosalt first thing in the morning for energy, focus, and stamina. Mix 1/4 tsp Thiosalt in 8 oz of filtered water. Drink on an empty stomach to hydrate and restore electrolytes. A tip from adrenal expert James L. Wilson - if salt tastes good, our adrenals probably need it.

Of course, always consult your doctor or medical practitioner before using Thiosalt or any supplement.
